Thanks again James for a wonderful session. We were few in numbers but rich in enthusiasm. We have changed location to Parquesol restaurant El Morche.
In this session, we explored the Concerto Grosso and solo. James explained the salient points using musical examples. There were lots of little classical snippets and many longer pieces. We opened with Tchaikovsky’s Piano concerto No 1 and finished with Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a theme of Pagninini, eighteenth variation. During the session, we met Hummel, Beethoven, Jesus de Monasterio and Chaminade and others, inclding the almost unknown Allan Stephenson of South africa. Join us next time if you would like to find out more.
The next meeting is on Friday 24 April at Parquesol El Morche at 11am . The next meeting is exploring:
“Programme Music” – Music which paints a picture or tells a story
Everyone is welcome. Janice and James
