I gave a talk on the Carthaginians who were important in forging the Romans legions and navies into the supreme fighting force that they became and who also gave us Hannibal considered to be one of the greatest military commanders in history.
Maggie kindly came in with a book that a friend of hers had written about Torrox Village and gave a little talk on the village and its history and Andrew continued with his talks on the "Discover of the America´s" which we call "Listening with Andrew"!!
All the new members yesterday expressed an interest in certain areas of Spanish History and we are looking forward to hearing a talk given by them at some time.
Next time instead of a visit, we have Norma who is going to discuss the Spanish Civil War from a personal perspective as both Norma´s parents were Spanish and immigrated to France to escape the Franco era and Royce is giving a talk on a Spanish Nobility lady who he has apparently taken out to dinner!!
I also mentioned the Christmas lunch that we had last year at JK´s (or JT´s) which was absolutely delicious and beautifully laid out which had a real Christmasy atmosphere to it and whether people would like to have our Christmas lunch there again this year!
Also we need to make a decision about where we will go for our next History visit!
