Following our lunch together, we had a great meeting at Gastrobar Las Perlas on Wednesday 27th January. Yes, it was a bit noisy as the restaurant was rather full but, as this is an excellent venue for our meetings (with wifi and projector available to us), I’m considering moving our meetings on the last Wednesday of each month to 11am rather than 3pm. Any thoughts? Those of us who wish to, can stay on to enjoy a lunch together after the meeting.
Our photo challenges for this month are Doors and Ancient & Modern. You can post your photos into the albums within the Facebook page for the U3A (Axarquia) Photography Group. Here’s the direct link if you’re not already a member:
Alternatively, you could post them onto the group’s page on Flickr.
At our meeting we discussed venues for photo shoots. As you can see, many of these suit an 11am meeting because of opening times. Please indicate your preferences or your own suggestions:
Buddhist stupa near Velez-Malaga
A street market (obviously would suit an 11am meeting)
Boatyards at Pedregalejo - where they hand-make wooden jebajas (suits 11am meeting)
La Araña and Peñon de Cuervo (near the concrete works)
Stroll along Burriana beach followed by paella at Ayos (suits 11am meeting)
Visit to the white church, Los Remedios (and surrounding park) on the hill in Velez-Malaga (better suits 11am meeting)
Old railway tunnels at Rincón de la Victoria
For our indoor meetings, subjects to help us to improve our photograph include:
Camera set-up and functions
Depth of field and aperture priority
shooting in RAW
Apps and editing programmes for photographers
Again, please indicate your interest in any of the above so that I can plan a programme of events.
Would anyone with knowledge of the above subjects be willing to help the rest of the group by sharing their knowledge at that meeting?
Adrian has offered the opportunity of us holding an indoor photo studio (pop-up studio day with proper lighting) maybe at Parquesol Hotel in El Morche. This would NOT be on a normal meeting day as there wouldn’t be time. Who would be interested?
Look forward to hearing from you.
RSVP either via the FB group or by email. No need to do both, one will suffice. Thanks.
